Hi, I’m Atman

My Story

I have been drawn to art ever since I was a toddler; after all I was surrounded by it.

Currently studying video game art, I would say the path towards design and art was laid out before me.
With my sister being a NIFT Alumna, I was fortunate to see the process behind the final design. I saw the meticulous planning and conceptualisation that went into every single project, the refinement and revisions before the final iteration; watching it all come together like a perfectly put together jigsaw-puzzle.

My interest has always leaned towards fantasy worlds and mystical creatures.

Video games were the perfect culmination of this for me; bringing together art, world building, characters and storylines.
While I had already begun drawing characters and mentally developing storylines for them, a formalised course for video game art allowed me to delve deeper, where I could explore how the visuals would interact with each other within the game and the player.

My Game art and design journey

Over the course of the last two years I have explored different kinds of games; both as a design student and a player.

As a video game fanatic, I’m obsessed with the fine details imprinted into the art work. It was only when I started to design a game, I realised and studied the multi-layered process and research needed to design the art work that makes a game ravishingly satisfying.

It first began with backgrounds, and then characters along with the various obstacles that they interact with. As the games became more detailed, I also learnt how to create art and elements in the game in a way that everything fits together, creating a seamless gaming experience.

I love creating and drawing fantasy characters and their background stories drawing inspiration from real life animals and objects, and blending them into a seamless tapestry of my imaginary world.

I have been making art for as long as I can remember.

I would say my art journey began when I was three years old, with scribbling various kinds of monsters and animals using crayons and oil pastels in my school sketchbook. I went on to try to steal my sister’s paints and make a mess of all the paper in front of me but having a lot of fun with it. This slowly grew into having a set of properly curated art supplies - pens, colour pencils, different micron pens and sketch pens along with a dedicated set of sketchbooks, and now I have begun exploring the world of digital art too.

After being on the lookout for good dragon themed graphic tees for the longest, a moment in 2023 brought along an opportunity to work on a set of three prints for some T-shirts.
